Earlier today, Baen Books has released the next installment of the Manticore Ascendant series, "A Call to Insurrection" by David Weber, Timothy Zahn and Tom Pope, in eARC format. Readers may view a copy of the novel through the Baen Books website.

Readers can follow officer Travis Long, officer Lisa Long, diplomat Gavin Long and diplomat Earl Winterfall as they traverse the Andermani Empire in search of allies for the Star Kingdom of Manticore. Queen Elizabeth I has sent them on a mission to recruit the Imperial Navy, now that the Star Kingdom is in danger. Unfortunately, the Andermani’s Navy is currently occupied with a civil war, making the group’s mission much more dangerous.

The book is the fourth part of the New York Times best-selling series and is currently separated into two books. Book one is available for free with the eARC and is about six chapters long, but book two, which covers chapters 7-27, is still off-limits for those who have not paid for the ebook.

The full novel is set to be published on Feb. 1, 2022. It will be around 384 pages and will be available in hardcover. Pre-orders are already available on Amazon.

Welcome to Our Imaginary Escape

 Welcome readers,

Our Imaginary Escape is a blog dedicated towards news and content related to books within the fantasy genre.  Though the focus is on fictional novels, this blog might also include news and opinions on fantasy shows or movies that were inspired by books.  Really, anything that is out of reality can be found here.  The real world can be a tough place to live in sometimes.  Reading books is an entertaining way to escape for a little bit.  They have the power to transport readers to distant lands, full of wonders and adventure.  Creatures of all kinds suddenly exist and loveable characters are introduced.  Though magic does not exist, there is no better way to describe books other than magical.  This blog aims to promote the fantastical worlds within fiction and maybe even encourage people to read more or try their own hand at creating.  There is plenty out there to explore and discover.  Are you ready for the next adventure?
